Assistant Professor Mr. Nawanit Kumar Mahato has been working here as Academic and Examination Chief. He joined here at Madhesh Agricultural University for more than a year. Previously, he graduated with a master’s in crop science from the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany in 2017 and accomplished his Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from SANN International college, Gairidhara, Kathmandu in 2012. During his master studies he worked on a thesis entitled “Characterisation of reference genes for Uromyces appendiculatus” and during his bachelor studies he worked on “Molecular-physiological evaluation of submergence tolerance ability in selected rice germplasm”. He won second prize for poster presentation in ELLS Scientific student conference held in November 2015 at Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic.

He started a professional carrier as a Research Assistant in Biotechnology Division, Nepal Agricultural Research Council, Khumaltar, Lalitpur, Nepal. He worked as a Research Assistant in Eurofins Agroscience Services Ecotox GmbH, Germany. He was a Consultant for molecular works in Plant Pathology Division, Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), Khumaltar, Lalitpur, Nepal. He also worked as a Research Associate at Research Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology (RIBB).
